  • How can I change my email password?:

You have to log into your controlpanel (usually www.yourname.com/controlpanel) and enter your User Name and password. There is an option to change the password in the control panel. (Updated: 09/13/98)

  • Do I need to have my email boxes only with my ISP?:

No, the only thing you need from your ISP is a connection to the Internet. The Internet is one gigantic network. What this means is that once you are connected to the net – not only can you visit www pages across the globe but also have email boxes on computers that may be far away from you for ex. your virtual server.

Connection to the Internet is usually via an local ISP who provides the link when you dial in from your computer to the Internet network. Once connected your physical location is not a big issue. You can retrieve email from your virtual server just as easily as you can from your ISP even if the virtual server is in a different city, it is still part of the Internet.

  • What Software do I need and where do I download it?:

There are numerous email software - including but not limited to Eudora, Netscape, Outlook Express etc. Some email programs such as Eudora/Outlook etc. allow you to also check multiple email boxes at the same time. This can be a very useful feature.

To download the software you can try:
    Eudora :
    http://eudora.qualcomm.com/products/#freeware

Netscape: Comes with the browser http://home.netscape.com/download/index.html(part of Communicator)

    Outlook Express: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/download/
    (part of IE download)

You can also try http://www.download.com for other email packages of your choice. (Updated: 02/28/99)

  • Can I read my email from the web using only the browser?:

Yes, your controlpanel provides you with this useful feature. (Updated: 09/13/98)

  • How do I add other emails?:

You need to be the administrator of the domain to do this. You would access your control panel and enter your administrator email name and password. In addition to being able to read/send email - you can add new users and aliases.

You will see a new 'User Administration' menu item at the bottom. Use this to setup new emails and aliases. We recommend also setting up a "catch-all" alias and forward it to an email box of your choice. Read the faq on how to setup the "catch-all" feature. (Updated: 09/21/98)

  • How do I create an "catch-all" email address?:

Using the controlpanel create a alias called "nobody" and set the destination to any email address you choose.

Email sent with errors in the address for ex. someone mispelling tom@yourdomain.com as tmo@yourdomain.com will be send to the catch-all address you specify.

IT HAS TO BE AN ALIAS... NOT A EMAIL ADDRESS. (Updated: 09/17/98)

  • How do I setup autoresponders?:

First create a User with the same name as the autoresponders you wish to create. For ex. if you wish to create productinfo@mydomain.com - create a User called productinfo and log off the administrator account.

Next log in via the control panel using the user name productinfo@mydomain.com. Set the vacation message to the message you want people to receive when they send a message to this account and log off.

Thatz pretty much it.. Anyone sending a message to productinfo@yourdomain.com will now get the message they have placed in the vacation message.

  • How do I setup my email program?:

    Outlook (98, Express etc)
Enter your full email name in the Account Name such as admin@yourdomain.com not just admin.

    SMTP server
    Incoming: yourdomain.com
    Outgoing: "Your ISP's mail server"

    Eudora/Netscape & Others:
    -------------------------
    Incoming Server: yourdomain.com
Outgoing Server: "your_isp's mail server" usually smtp.yourISPname.com or mail.yourISPname.com

Checking Mail Settings: yourname%yourdomain.com@yourdomain.com for ex. say admin@yourdomain.com is your email address. Everyone will send mail to admin@yourdomain.com. To check your email you need to use admin%yourdomain.com@yourdomain.com
